Suspended Sailings (revised 6.24.20)
March 12 through August 31, 2020 (Note: AMA extended to August 31, 2020 on 6/23/2020, as it was previously through August 15, 2020 sailings)
Refund Options (revised 4.8.20)
Option 1: Future Cruise Credit (FCC)
115% Future Cruise Credit (use by 12/31/22) a Future Cruise Credit (FCC)* equal to 115% of the value of the funds that AmaWaterways has received for all purchased services through AmaWaterways (i.e. cruise, hotel, air, extra hotel nights, including air and cruise penalties etc.).FCC has no cash value. Can be applied to all AmaWaterways purchased services, as well as cruise deposits.
The FCC is transferrable with written confirmation provided by the original FCC owner, Transferable any time prior to December 31, 2022 with written authorization.
Option 2: 100% Monetary Refund
If purchased, Travel Waiver Plus premium will be refunded to the original form of payment.
Guests will receive the FCC automatically.
100% Monetary Refund: If, after explaining the full benefits and value of the Future Cruise Credit, and the guests would still like to request a monetary refund as per our standard terms and conditions, monetary refunds will be issued.
Trip Protection: Travel Waiver Plus (revised 6.24.20):
For suspended sailings through August 31, 2020: The Travel Waiver Plus will be refunded for guests who have purchased this.
Applicable for Future Sailings (Commencing September 1, 2020): Travel Waiver Plus is available for purchase for sailings with embarkations of September 1, 2020 onward.

Travel Waiver Plus provides cancellation for any reason, up to 24 hours prior to the start of their AmaWaterways booked services.
For all new or existing reservations for Europe and Southeast Asia (deposited or paid in full), Travel Waiver Plus can be added up to 48 hours prior to the start of AmaWaterways purchased services.
For Africa Safaris & Wildlife Cruises Travel Waiver Plus must be purchased at or after final payment within 90 days from departure only.
Other (revised 4.8.20)
For sailings embarking through December 31, 2020, to Europe, Africa, or Southeast Asia, full payment will not be due until 60 days before departure. Please speak with our reservation team for modified cancellation fees. 1-800-626-0126
For new bookings to Europe, Asia, and Africa option dates have been extended from 7 to 60 days* If a departure is more than 70% booked, the option date will be seven days.

Today, I am writing to you from my office in Switzerland, where we are back to a nearly regular work schedule – with the necessary social distancing, of course. In Europe, countries are beginning to open up, but the process will continue to be slow and cautious. Like you, I look forward to traveling again and I am encouraged by the scientific advancements being made around the world to overcome COVID-19.
Since we started Viking nearly 23 years ago, we have faced multiple challenges and emerged stronger each time. Extending Temporary Suspension through September 30
We were the first cruise line to announce a temporary suspension of operations and have continued to evaluate the situation, responding accordingly. While restrictions related to COVID-19 are beginning to ease in some countries, travel remains complicated. Therefore, we have made the decision to extend our temporary suspension of operations through September 30, 2020.
A Future Cruise Voucher for 125%
As a guest whose voyage is impacted by these cancellations, we want to support you and protect your travel investment. Therefore, we are offering a 125% Future Cruise Voucher. This voucher includes 100% of the monies paid to Viking, plus an additional 25% value. The added value provides an opportunity to enhance your trip—by choosing a longer itinerary; adding a pre/post cruise extension; upgrading your stateroom category; or even upgrading to business class air. Additionally, any vouchers you may have applied to this booking have automatically been reinstated, are valid for 24 months and are available for your immediate use.
To ensure you have the time and flexibility to plan for your next trip, the 125% Future Cruise Voucher has exclusive and enhanced terms. It is fully transferable, allowing you to gift it to someone with whom you would like to share the joys of travel. It can be applied within the next 24 months to any river, ocean or expedition cruise. If you are unable to use your voucher by the expiration date, simply return your expired voucher to Viking, and we will send you a refund equal to the original amount paid to Viking.
As a reminder, if you use your voucher and rebook your cruise—with Viking or your Travel Advisor—by July 31, our Risk-Free Guarantee is applicable to your booking. This means you can change your plans up to 24 hours prior to departure, giving you the peace of mind and the flexibility you need to make the best decision for you.

Looking to the Future
As the world continues its path to recovery from COVID-19, we remain focused on the future. We are committed to maintaining the safest and healthiest fleet in the industry. We are fortunate to have small ocean ships with only 930 guests, and river ships with only 190 guests and their spacious design will help facilitate social distancing as needed. We have always had the highest standards for health and cleanliness—and are now finalizing additional protocols to make traveling with Viking even safer. We will be sharing more information about this very soon. Also, during this time of non-operation, we are further training our crew and preparing our fleet to welcome you on board again.
At Viking, we are looking to the future and the expansion of our fleet. In June we celebrated the float out of our seventh ocean ship, Viking Venus, as she touched water for the first time in Ancona, Italy. She will set sail in 2021. In 2022 we will welcome our new expedition vessels, Viking Octantis and Viking Polaris, that will sail the Arctic, Antarctica and North America’s Great Lakes. We will also launch our first ship on an American river in 2022, when we welcome Viking Mississippi to our fleet.
